We participated in and documented a 150km journey through the desert, starting from Abu Dhabi and ending in Al Ain. Large groups of people traversed the desert on foot, emulating the journey taken by our ancestral Arabs, all while learning about their culture and sharing in a truly unique experience.

We were initially brought on to document the Women’s Heritage Walk due to not only our cultural knowledge, but also our expertise in being discreet when needed. We were later invited to document the first Men’s Heritage Walk in 2020.

Both journeys were charged  with emotion, inspiration and deep connections to our fellow trekkers. The opportunity to capture very real and raw feelings, in-the-moment thoughts and behaviors, throughout the journey resulted in deeply emotive images that were later shared with all the attendees.
